Sea la Vie Home Rental L.L.C. (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates a short-term holiday home rental service in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We act as the data controller for personal data we collect via our website, booking channels, and on-site check-in. Our processing is governed by the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, the “PDPL”) and its implementing rules.
Identification & travel: full name, date of birth, nationality, passport/Emirates ID details, visa information (where applicable).
Contact: email, phone, address.
Booking & stay: reservation details, unit and dates, guests in party, special requests, incident reports.
Payment: partial card details tokenized by our payment processor, billing info (we do not store full card numbers).
Website/technical: device, browser, IP, general location, referral source, pages viewed; cookies and similar technologies (see Cookie Policy).
Compliance: documents or information required by Dubai’s Department of Economy & Tourism (DET, formerly DTCM) for licensed Holiday Homes operations (e.g., guest identity verification).
We process personal data only where a PDPL legal basis applies, including:
To provide our services and perform a contract with you: manage enquiries, take and confirm bookings, check-in/out, housekeeping, maintenance, support, and issue invoices/receipts.
To comply with legal and regulatory obligations in the UAE/Dubai, including Holiday Homes licensing/permit rules and safety/security requirements. Authorities and building management can require guest identity details prior to arrival.
With your consent (where required), e.g., for certain marketing cookies or optional communications. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Legitimate interests (balanced against your rights), e.g., securing our premises, fraud prevention, service analytics, and improving our website.
Protecting public interests and establishment/defence of legal claims where applicable under the PDPL.
To lawfully host guests in Dubai, operators must be licensed/registered and hold unit permits via the DET Holiday Homes system. In practice, this may require us to collect and verify passports/Emirates IDs for all guests and submit details to relevant systems/building security prior to check-in, as part of compliance and access control. If you do not provide required information, we may be unable to host you.
We share personal data only as needed with:
DET and other UAE authorities for regulatory compliance and inspections.
Service providers (data processors): hosting and IT support, booking/operations software, identity verification tools (if used), payment processors, website analytics, security and anti-fraud services, and communications tools.
Building management/security for guest access approvals where required.
Professional advisors (legal/accounting) and parties to a business reorganisation if applicable.
All processors are bound by contracts consistent with PDPL requirements.
Our website and service providers may process data outside the UAE. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use PDPL-permitted mechanisms (e.g., to jurisdictions deemed adequate, or with contractual safeguards) and ensure transfers are necessary for your booking or otherwise permitted by law.
We keep data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including fulfilling bookings, accounting/tax requirements, security, and to meet DET/authority record-keeping obligations. When minimum retention periods apply under UAE law/regulation, we follow those. After expiry, we delete or anonymise data safely.
Subject to conditions and exemptions under the PDPL, you may have the right to:
(a) access your personal data; (b) request correction; (c) request deletion; (d) restrict or object to processing; (e) data portability; (f) object to automated processing; (g) withdraw consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office. We will respond within PDPL timelines. To exercise rights, email sealavievacationhomesrental@gmail.com with the subject “PDPL Request” and sufficient details to verify your identity.
Our services are intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly accept bookings made by minors. Where minors stay as part of a family, we may process their identification details only as required for compliance and safety.
We implement organisational and technical measures appropriate to risk, including access controls, encryption in transit, and data minimisation. Access to identification documents is restricted to personnel who need it for compliance and operations.
We may send service and transactional messages (booking confirmations, stay information). Marketing communications are sent only with consent or where permitted; you can opt out at any time via the message footer or by contacting us.
See our Cookie Policy for details on cookies used on our website and how to manage your preferences.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Effective date” and, where required, notify you of material changes.
